Inept casino management costs Brantford 5% of $175,000 Cc: mhancock@brantford.ca,jlasychuk@olgc.ca,fjackson@olgc.ca,mharrington@olgc.ca Bcc: grpsmain, aliparl, brantford@yahoogroups.com JCT: http://yahoogroups.com/group/turmel/message3097 detailed my April 21 2006 letter to Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty about the Brantford poker deterring the $8 session fee game to the preference of the $7 fee game. The very next day: Brantford Expositor Saturday April 22 2006 City's casino cash takes another dip JCT: With the incompetence we've seen in the poker room so far, is it any wonder the city's casino cash takes another dip? EX: Brantford has received a $905,680 cheque from the Ontario Lotteries and Gaming Corporation as a fourth-quarter share of the revenue from the slot machines at the Brantford Charity Casino. JCT: Brantford only gets a share of the slots? Who is losing due to the incompetence in the poker room? Is Dalton losing it all? EX: The amount, which represents five percent of the total slot machine revenue, marks the third consecutive drop in quarterly revenue. The city received $917,157 in January, $927,304 in September 2005, and $983,040 in July 2005. JCT: They would have received 3/4 of 5% of $175,000 > $6500 more if they'd helped me start up the $8 session fee game everyone was ready to play for the extra hands. And that's only with one table. Often there are two $14/hr tables that could be earning $8/hr. By deterring the $8 session fee game, the Brantford Charity Casino is denying the city of Brantford at least $8,700 a year! Should the city sue the OLGC? Copies to: Mayor Hancock mhancock@brantford.ca Jay Lasychuk jlasychuk@olgc.ca Fran Jackson fjackson@olgc.ca Michael Harrington mharrington@olgc.ca
